DGNB Gold Certificate for the New Technical City Hall
The new Technical City Hall of the city of Pforzheim has been awarded the DGNB Gold Certificate by the German Society for Sustainable Building. The certification recognizes the sustainable construction method of the building and includes not only the construction, but also the long-term operation and usage in the evaluation.
According to the city, in addition to energy efficiency, the DGNB evaluation also includes resource conservation, economic efficiency, user comfort, flexibility, and urban quality.
Building as an example of sustainable urban development
For the city of Pforzheim, the new Technical City Hall is not only a central administrative location, but also a visible example of future-oriented urban development. A photovoltaic system generates renewable energy directly on-site on the roof. In addition, green roofs and facade greening improve the microclimate, promote rainwater retention, and contribute to the ecological enhancement of the urban environment.
Sustainability also in the interior
According to the city, sustainability was also emphasized in the interior furnishings. High-quality materials, a pleasant room climate, and modern working conditions are intended to create a future-oriented environment for both employees and visitors.
Thanks to the project participants
Mayor of Construction Tobias Volle sees the award as confirmation of the claim to sustainable and future-oriented construction. He thanked all participants in the project, in particular the investor and builder Ten Brinke, the planning offices, the architects, and the executing companies.
Ten Brinke also evaluates the DGNB Gold certification as recognition of the joint work of all participants. According to the company's assessment, the new Technical City Hall combines high quality of stay with resource-saving solutions and a future-oriented construction method.

According to the city, the award underlines the role model function of public buildings and sets a sign for sustainable construction in the region.
